Access our 3-lesson curriculum

Thank you for your interest in our 3-lesson curriculum on Christian nationalism. Released in 2021, it uses clips from the “Democracy and Faith Under Siege: Responding to Christian Nationalism” webinar.

The curriculum informs a deeper dive into the dangers of Christian nationalism and is intended for churches and other small discussion groups.

There are 5 items for group leaders to download: 2 separate PDFs and 3 PowerPoint presentations:

  • Lessons: A 26-page PDF document, with an introduction and the three lessons for use by those participating in the group.

  • Facilitator’s Guide: This provides a version of the first PDF document that contains extra notes to the side of the page to aid in leading conversations.

  • PowerPoint Presentations for Lessons 1, 2, and 3: These files contain PowerPoint slides with embedded video clips referenced in each lesson.

Click the buttons below for access. The facilitator’s guide and PowerPoint presentations will take you to Dropbox links — click on the top right corner of the Dropbox page to download them. Lesson #1 will not show a preview screen, but it downloads just as the others do.

The webinar used in the curriculum was broadcast live on January 27, 2021, to explore how Christians are identifying and responding to the dangers of Christian nationalism in the wake of the January 6 attack at the U.S. Capitol. It features The Most Rev. Michael Curry, Presiding Bishop of The Episcopal Church at that time; The Rev. Elizabeth A. Eaton, Presiding Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America; Dr. Andrew L. Whitehead, Associate Professor of Sociology at Indiana University - Purdue University Indianapolis; and moderator Amanda Tyler, executive director of BJC (Baptist Joint Committee for Religious Liberty) and lead organizer of the Christians Against Christian Nationalism Campaign.
